SALES ASSOCIATE (full time/part time)

Reports to: Store Manager
Compensation: $10-$12/hour
Hours of Work: Full time – 40 hours/week.  Part time – 10+ hours/week (a variety of shifts are available Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and until 8pm on Thursday)
Overview:

A Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, generating sales, merchandising, maintaining the store and representing the company in the best possible manner when dealing with customers. We are looking for a person who enjoys working with others and who has tact, patience, an interest in sales work, a neat appearance, and the ability to communicate clearly.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service
  • Maintain knowledge of products as well as sales promotions
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock
  • Aid customers in locating merchandise
  • Communicate customer requests to management and gather information on customers’ reactions to products
  • Participate in year-end inventory and cycle counts
  • Process sales, returns, orders and exchanges of merchandise using our automated point of sale and inventory systems (training provided)
  • Arrange for mailing or delivery of purchases
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees
  • Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager

Qualifications:  No experience necessary, just an open mind, willingness to learn and a positive attitude. Knowledge of Scottish culture and involvement in the local Scottish community would be considered an asset but is not required.
